What is the fastest way to start?
Add your ingredients first, then open Recipe to explore or create. Use Play Recipe to execute with timers and board flow.
Ingredients
Track ingredient quantity/unit/category, auto-generate nutrition (with API key), and use stock for matching and deduction while cooking.
Recipe
Create recipes via form or voice, optionally generate with AI, import JSON, export selected recipes, like/share, and browse explore filters.
Play Recipe Kanban
Steps move from Upcoming to the assigned cook, then to Completed when the timer ends. Each cook follows their own sequence; assign only independent tasks to different cooks. Active countdowns remain visible in a floating panel on every app page; select it to return to Play Recipe. Expert uses original times, Somewhat uses 1.5x, and Beginner uses 2x. Reset stops the session. Timers are not restored after reload.
Profile Settings
Set your name, gender, dietary preference, experience and optional OpenAI, Gemini, or Groq key. Email is read-only from cloud login. Choose a local music file, video playback preference and performer. Silence Play Audio mutes announcements, countdown sounds, chimes and background music.
Meal Planner & Shopping
Assign recipes to day and meal slots, or select the empty option to remove a meal. The shopping list combines compatible units and subtracts available quantities. It does not convert weight to volume or match different foods by partial names. Previously assigned meals remain saved when you change diet; review those choices.
Login and offline data
Continue on This Device works without an account. Configured Google/email accounts sync profile, ingredients, recipes, likes and meal slots privately. Guest data and each account are separate. Sign-out retains local data; clear site data on a shared device when needed. Offline changes are saved locally and retried when connected. Export recipes for a portable backup.
Free AI and step videos
Manual recipes and timers do not require AI. Choose OpenAI, Gemini, or Groq for optional recipe generation and approximate nutrition, using your own API key. Requests send selected ingredients and recipe preferences to your selected provider. Each key stays in this browser account's storage, outside the app database. Usage follows the provider's pricing and quota; OpenAI requires API billing. Automatic AI video generation is disabled in this deployment.
Music, audio and local caching
A selected audio file under 50 MB is stored in this browser and can loop during Play Recipe. It survives reloads but does not sync to another device. Browser storage clearing or eviction removes local media. Spoken instructions are queued for both cooks; each final countdown second beeps once. Sound and dictation depend on browser permissions and device support.
Likes, sharing and nutrition
Recipe hearts are saved in your profile; Like shows the liked subset in Explore. Export selects individual recipes as JSON; Import skips existing IDs. Share sends the app link, not private recipes. Nutrition is an AI estimate for the stored quantity and scales when that quantity changes; it is not verified nutritional or medical advice. Dietary filters use recipe tags, so tag custom recipes accurately.
